Do you ever wake up deep in thought about something completely random? I do, all the time. If I'm not dwelling on some crazy dream I had, then I am thinking about something that probably would never happen. I spent the first few moments of my morning wondering if I was ever robbed and makeup was considered money, what would I reluctantly hand over to my robber? I know, is that seriously what I was thinking about? Unfortunately, yes and in my defense, it stemmed from one of the many strange dreams I had last night. Judge nicely, people. My brain is weird but it made me think... Which five beauty products would I hate to live without? Here's the verdict:
1. Cover FX Natural Finish Foundation This has been my go-to foundation for years. It comes in 40 shades... way before the birth of Fenty Beauty... just a little FYI. I am the shade P20. They use an undertone system to help truly match your skin. P - Pink (Cool), G - Golden (Warm), G+ - Olive (Warmer), N - Neutral. Their shade range ranks by 5's from 0-125. It is water-based so I would only recommend this product for those who have Normal to Dry skin. I can sheer it out to look like a tinted moisturizer or build it up to a full-coverage foundation (sometimes I even skip the concealer) all while feeling as if I am wearing nothing on my skin. It is Paraben, Talc, Fragrance, Phthalate, Gluten, Mineral Oil, and Sulfate FREE! It also contains Vitamin C and E to help brighten and hydrate the skin for a natural finish featuring a healthy glow. 2. Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Powder Duo I have been filling my brows in for the past 8 years, nothing will stop me now. I like this formula because it lasts all day and has a soft, natural finish. Each duo comes with... two... shades so you can deepen them to bring that drama or soften them for that "I woke up like dis" look. Vegan and Cruelty-Free. Can't complain. 3. Beautycounter Overnight Resurfacing Peel Just read my blog about it. Renew Skin Safely. I will drink this stuff. 4. Aquage Dry Shampoo I have tried so many dry shampoos but this one is the one I swear by. I use it on myself as well as clients. It can be used as a dry shampoo as well as a style extender by give your hair some texture and volume at the root and throughout. There is no powdery residue which is great for those with dark hair. I depend on this product to give me bomb hair the day before it's time to wash. It is NOT completely clean. It does contain fragrance which if you didn't know, "fragrance" is a word that can house more than 3,000 ingredients... insane, right? Also, the whole purpose of a dry shampoo is to absorb your hair's natural oil production. This product contains glycerin and alcohol which can be incredibly drying to the hair. However, FUN FACT: glycerin is usually only drying to the hair when it is used in an environment that is drier than your hair. That said, if you live in a moderately humid climate, it'll offer just enough hydration to keep your locks healthy. 5. Alba Botanica Very Emollient Body Lotion - Coconut Rescue
When I was a kid, my stepmom would force me to put on lotion directly after showering. She would tell me I would turn into an alligator if I refused. I hated the feeling but now, if I skip this step... which is never... I totally feel like I could be transforming into an alligator. I have dry skin. This body lotion has kept my skin soft and hydrated for a very long time.
It is filled with anti-oxidants and caffeine to rejuvenate skin. Ingredients like aloe, coconut oil, and coconut milk boost skin's hydration. It is hypoallergenic which is great for those with sensitive skin. Certified Organic. Cruelty-Free.
